i wish i could offer you some i'll help you find some though in the meantime i can lend you one of my guns so you don't have to worry about wasting bullets
Hello, Ellie. I, ah... [Glacius pauses, having no idea just how familiar the young human is with people trying to end her life, and trying to figure out a way to... soften it a bit. Make it less alarming, at least!] ... Well, I was just wanted to check in and see how you were doing, I suppose. It has been some time since we last spoke, after all, and after certain recent developments...
[Whoops, jumping ahead a bit. The ice alien decides to just keep it brief.] ... Well. Do let me know, yes?
[So. Ellie thinks she knows what this is about, thanks to a helpful post sharing the list of targets. Already on edge and trying to do several things at once, her initial reply to poor Glacius is snappier than it needs to be.]
I know, I'm a fucking hit list. You don't have to dance around it. I'm fine.
[It only takes seconds for her to regret the outburst.]
...Sorry. I- yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for asking, big guy.
[Poor Glacius is actually made of pretty stern stuff, so though he doesn't enjoy being snapped at, it doesn't seem to phase him too much. In fact, if Ellie already knows then he's prepared to launch right into business... but the regret he detects in her tone softens his approach somewhat.] It is fine. Stress is rampant, emotions are a bit frazzled right now. I ah... maybe shouldn't have been so nonchalant. I was just trying not to alarm you, but I suppose dancing around the threat would do neither of us any favors.
[It's technically the tenth, but only technically. Elves don't need to sleep, and Ellie might not remember at what point she actually passed, but if she stops to think about it she'll realize he should've rested by now.]
whenever you wake up again let me know im not gonna lock you up or anything theres just something in our apartment thats yours
[She immediately checks for her knife when she sees the text, and when she finds it right where it should be, Ellie sets about digging through her bag. She can't find anything obviously missing.]
Ellie. [A familiar voice graces the young girl's inbox today, laced with unfamiliar hesitance from the big alien. This call is well overdue, and Glacius feels nearly as rotten about that as he does about how he let their last conversation end off. Ellie had told him not to call back until he had his shit sorted, and while he's not sure that's technically completely possible in a place like Hadriel, things are in something of a lull now... which makes it as good a time as any.
Or it would, if he was certain she was even ready to hear from him. Which he is not. But he was the one who messed up, so it's his responsibility to try and fix things now.] Our last talk did not go like it should have. I, ah... I need the chance to set things right, if you'd give me that. [Others might say that what happened wasn't his fault but the fault of the gods, and they would be right, but Glacius has never been good at excusing himself when the hurt was brought about by his actions or his words. He'll do his best to explain things, and let Ellie decide from there.]
[Ellie had been fortunate enough to largely miss out on the wave of jealously and possessiveness that swept the city- the call with Glacius had been her worst exposure to it all.
She spitefully considers not even answering the call, but only seconds later feels guilty at the thought and picks up. It's not Glacius' fault. Ellie knows that.]
Hey. So you're back to normal then?
[Ellie's demeanor softens as he speaks. Shit. There he is. The big dumb softie alien.]
Yeah. Duh. 'Course we can do that. Uh- you wanna meet somewhere?
[The softening of her tone is an immediate relief; it wouldn't be unreasonable if she had remained frustrated or angry, but it would make this more difficult in a variety of ways. Thankfully that is not the case, and Glacius feels marginally more certain about proceeding here.]
Yes. These devices are... impersonal. [And he wants the apology to be as genuine as it possibly can; he imagines being face to face might help with that.] Where shall I find you?

[he has no idea what happened to her in the event, which was generally just super chaotic but checking on her is probably a good thing right]

[God, another voice she's so relieved to hear. Ellie sounds tired. A little worn thin. Dying will do that to you.]
I'm in one piece. It's really good to hear from you, dude. How're you holding up?
audio
[but it's also both an answer and not an answer. and she sounds really tired -- it's a tone he knows pretty well. he'd died before, too.]
The cave-split wasn't fun but we made it through, I guess.
audio
Uh. Yeah. Yeah, we- here we are.
[She feels small. Too reliant for her own liking. Still, she asks:]
Can we meet up?
